Reneé O'Connor was born February 15, 1971, in Houston, TX, and grew up just outside the city in Katy, TX.  Reneé attended  the Houston High School of Visual and Performing Arts, and graduated from Taylor High School.  Reneé married New Zealander Steve Muir in 2000, and the two of them have one son, William, born in 2001.

Reneé is best known for her role as Gabrielle on the television series Xena: Warrior Princess.  Prior to Xena, Reneé appeared in several movies including Darkman II: The Return of Durant, Follow the River, and Hercules and the Lost Kingdom.  

Reneé's diverse credits also include Shakespeare by the Sea's 2002 production of Macbeth, producing and starring in the independent film Diamonds and Guns (2003), and starring in the 2004 independent film One Weekend a Month.  She also directed two episodes of Xena.
